Firstly, you may ask why a review of a barn is being put on my blog, I will tell you.

 

Myself and a few other guys, all very responsible, good jobs, 30-50yr old guys went on a stag do and stayed here. I have been on several stag do's and this was by far the most civilised one I have ever been on.

 

Thats the background. I posted my review of the place we stayed and also a few of the other guys did as well on websites allowing us to review said barn.

 

the owner however and the website removed the reviews as they were not to the owners liking.

 

So, this is my blog, screw your guys. 

 

 

This is definitely NOT a sleep 11 rental. It would be more suited to 3 x couples and even then it would not be exactly romantic.

This looks like a property that was made for a family and my guess is that it is being rented out to cover costs of building work (the double shower is a bit of a give away, not really ideal for 11 people!).

The view is lovely, kitchen is nice, main open plan space is reasonable. There is no TV worth speaking of, it sits on the mezzanine and is about as big as a small child's colouring book with old tatty sofas next to it. Its very oddly situated in a space away from the living area which has all the comfy sofas.

The main dining area can only accommodate 6 people, 11 would be laughable.

In some parts there are areas of the barn done well, sadly there are far more that are not. The up stairs bathroom is unbelievably bad. We could not figure out what the owners must have been thinking. Unless you are less than 3ft high you have no chance of being able to use the toilet, I suppose you could try crawling to it on your knees.

The spare toilet is in the same room as the fridge, and the BBQ and the washing machine... I think that speaks volumes.

The main bathroom is comfortable, looks rushed in some parts and the double shower would be OK for couples but that is it. It is a very odd choice and leads you to wonder if the owners are trying to pay back some kind of extended mortgage, we felt so, it certainly has more of a family vibe.

The only contact we had with the owner was unpleasant and in all my time using rental properties Sharon (I believe her name is) has by far and away been the rudest I have met. Insulting some of our friends and being very aggressive, we certainly will not be going back or recommend to anyone.

Overall I would avoid this barn, for the money and finish on the property you will feel a disappointed. There are plenty better out there.
